Crochetklok Part I by Dyelshi Crochetklok Part I by Dyelshi
First 3 of a series of Dethklok Crochet dolls.
Pickles, Nathan, and Toki. I've also got a Murderface, and Skwisgaar is being redone. I'll post all 5 when Skwis's done.

I altered patterns for other plushies from a book I've got to make these guys, and planned all the colors, features, etc. myself.

Dethklok ain't mine, just these plushies.

hey! i love these so much.. i'm learning how to crochet myself (off of youtube no less, lol!), and i was wondering if maybe you'd be interested in posting a tutorial on how to make one them? my sister's going to have a baby, and my goal is to convert the kid into a dethklok fanatic just like his/her auntie (which i realize prolly wont happen, but hey! i can try :)). i want dethklok to be the first and last thing s/he sees when in bed. muahaha!!

Hey! It's a bit late for me to respond (sorry!), but I have been thinking of posting a tutorial. I wrote one a while back, but now I can't remember if I wrote it for dollmaking or for something else. :XD:

I'm crazy busy with course work right now, but I'm all for converting kiddies to gears in the wheel of the klok from a young age. I'll try to dig up that tutorial soon and stick it somewhere if it's for dolls after all.
:headbang: Stay metal.

I would buy Toki. I seriously would. I want him.
I'm going to steal him.
...Just so, y'know...if he goes missing... you'll have some idea of where he went.

Nice! I was planning to do some amigurumi Dethklok too. I have to make sure they end up looking different from yours. :)

Thanks!
And I've seen your style, I think your dolls will definitely turn out differently than mine did. I'll keep an eye out for them, I'm interested to see different interpretations of how the characters translate to plushie form.

Thanks! My continuing inspiration to make these is... the more I make, the more I'll have! MWAHAHAHAHA! :mwahaha:
I'll start sticking them in random places around my house, just to watch other people o_O at their being there. Like, open the fridge AND IT'S DR. ROCKSO, THE ROCK'N'ROLL CLOWN! (Don't let him near the sugar) :XD:

Ha, especially once you see the one I'm making. My mother doesn't even know who he is, and she recoiled and almost shrieked when I showed him to her as a WIP.
(K-k-k-yeeaah!)
My dad, scarily enough, knows who Rockso is, and thinks the doll's awesome. (Midlife crisis, I swear.) :XD:

haha you should see my parents,
my step father wasted a butt load of money on a new standard les paul and he seriously only plays church songs haha

he tries to dress "hip" too haha

Gah! Not a Gibson Les Paul Gold-top, was it? Does he happen to have red dreadlocks? :XD:
That's terrifying, parents trying to dress "hip" is a very scary thing... I'm glad I don't have to deal with that (not too much, anyway.)

I wish I had a guitar, I'd be sure never to taint it with church songs, lmfao. Although, I might actually be better at drums, picking up rhythms has always been a talent of mine (and it's crazy fun).

This is pure unadulterated win. How much would you be willing to sell some like this? Because I'm pretty interested.

VERY well done, no less. The eyebrows. The eyebrows are what make this amazing. Well that and you can crochet at all. That's amazing, too. Capturing Dethklok's likeness is hard enough, muchless as crochet dollies.

Thank you very much, unadulterated win is the best kind, in my opinion, I'm glad you think these live up to that standard.
And yes, I had a lot of fun picking expressions for each of them and seeing how they could translate into crochetedness with a few bits of yarn. I'm quite fond of the eyebrows, too.

As far as selling goes, I've considered it, but I'm not sure if time would allow it. I can time myself as I finish Skwisgaar, and see if I've got the time/yarn for another set. How many dollies does "pretty interested" mean?

I'm thinking maybe just one of them. I do like Nathan especially.

Ah, he's a fun one. Well, it can't hurt to have an extra on hand, so I'll whip up another Nathan as soon as possible, gauge my time, and then let you know a definite price if you're interested in buying him. I should be done with it by the end of this week, at the latest, and when I am I'll post a photo of clone-Nathan with a size reference so you know how big (or small) a plush we're talking about.
Sound reasonable?

That sounds really great.
They really are amazing little guys. You've got a talent. I also like MF, he's very stabby. And cute.

Wonderful! I'll stick to my timetable and let you know by the end of the week.
Thank you for saying that - and of course he's stabby!

Since it's pretty much your fault that I've remembered how fun these are to craft (which is entirely a good thing!) I figured I'd let you know that I've decided to continue this series beyond the band and start on the regularly recurring characters. (Once Nate-clone's done, naturally.)
My house and gallery will be crawling with them in no time.

Maybe I'd better start buying yarn in bulk.

Oh yay! I can just imagine Rockzo-doll now!

I'm sure if you felt like it, you could get a lot of people's interest and commission for it, I can think of a particular person who'd probably adore an Ofdensen one.

You work fast, by the way. I wouldn't know where to begin with crochet, much less get a whole doll done and made. They are all sorts of well crafted, too.

Well, the copyright laws freak me out a bit, but there's so many fanart commissions floating around that I think I'd probably be all right with a few paid commissions here and there.
I was going to do Ofdensen next, but then Rockso crept into my head - and he's refusing to go away until I turn him into a doll. Ofdensen will be tricky, but if he turns out well I'd love to do a commissioned one for your friend.

I think that comes from years of practice combined with semi-nightly lazing around in front of the TV with a crochet hook and yarn that "magically" becomes doll parts after an hour or two of mindless entertainment.
